A story of kindness by a stranger.......
I had gone from the waiting area to the restroom. On my way back I noticed that an older gentleman had sat down across the little table from where my wife and I were sitting.
he and my wife were talking as I approached. He immediately stood and introduced himself as Ernie. His wife was in a six hour reconstructive breast surgery. We spoke with Ernie, and eventually his daughter, for about 90 minutes. We spoke about our loved ones surgeries and a lot of "life" things.
He and his daughter eventually excused themselves to go and get some lunch. We all shook hands and wished each other good luck and off they went.
About an hour later our daughter's surgeon came to speak to us. The surgery had just ended a few minutes before and she was giving us all the info we would need.
As we were talking to the surgeon, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ernie approach my wife and without a word hand her something. My wife smiled, mouthed the words Thank You and slipped it into her pocket. Ernie slipped off.
A few minutes later after the surgeoin had gone my wife said, "Look at this". Ernie had slipped her a small book entitled "Warm Thoughts for Moms".
My wife sat and glanced thru that book with a little smile on her face.
A few minutes later as we were leaving the waiting area to go see our daughter I saw Ernie and his daughter. I waved to him and and he kind of shrugged his shoulders with a thumb in the air. When I raised my arm high and stuck my thumb in the air I thought he was going to explode as he raised both thumbs in the air and smiled from ear to ear.
Sometimes the kindness of a stranger is the greatest kindness of all.........

Yesterday was such a difficult day for all of us but He kept putting things in front of us.
It's moments such as those that still tell us there's hope for mankind after all.
Good story, Koz.
