Necrotizing Fasciitis

I was watching, "1000 ways to die" last night and a woman cut her leg while shaving, with a rusty razor.
When she cuts herself, she contracted Group A streptococcal infection, which develops into necrotizing fasciitis ("flesh-eating" bacteria) After doing a considerable amount of googling, I found several news articles to back this up.
So I guess what I am saying here bros, is that you may want to get the most out of your razors... but watch the blades, eh?
And if if you cut yourself and it develops into something weird looking, get it checked out.

Funny you posted on this, shdw, I watched it as well and was thinking the same thing.
More reason to make sure you at least air dry your blade, and don't keep it near moisture in the bath or shower.
It was quite nasty how it spread.

Thanks! That's actually something I didn't know anything about. Definitely a good thing for all of us to be aware of though.
Any change of sharing some of the sited you found so we can get more info?

I don't want any flesh eating bacteria by my brain. I think I may check my blade in the morning.

I rinse the blade with rubbing alcohol every few days. This also dissolved the baby oil buildup.

****End Highjack!****
Necrotizing Fascitis is not pleasant, but actually it is kind of difficult to contract. Often it is a result of a depressed immune system. There is usually something else going on.
