SCHRO IS BACK IN THE SLY HOUSE
« on: February 27, 2009, 04:56:27 PM »
OK, most of you know that I have seborrheic dermatitis (a painful & itchy scalp condition). Going sly gives me complete relief from SD. Unfortunately, the Lovely Mrs. Schro hates the sly look on me  :( . Late last year, I grew it back to a #1 setting as a compromise. I tried Max Strength T-Gel Shampoo and bought Scalpacin to help with the itching and flaking that comes from SD. Well, no dice.  :-\

Today, I planned on working out at lunchtime so this morning, I was wearing a black work out shirt. While at my desk, I'm scratching my scalp.....friggin' snow on the mountain to go with the itch!  >:( I told the Lovely Mrs. Schro, "I'm sorry, I wish there was a way we could both be happy, but I'm miserable dealing with this crap (pointing to my scalp & snow)".

So, I went to the gym, did my 4 miles, showered up, dusted off the Headblade and BAM!  O:O

I'M BACK & SLY AS EVER!  8)

Enjoy your weekend, gents!

Congratulations schro!

Sorry you have to deal with that, but if you gives you complete relief then that's a great thing.  I hope the lovely Mrs. Schro understands.  I'm sure the two of you can handle it.

You have a great weekend.

Hey Schro,

I have Seb Derm too on a few small spots -- what  a PIA!!!   >:(

Have you seen a dermatologist?  The only things that help me are coal tar shampoos and prescription steroid creams. Being bald helps too for some reason.   Believe it or not I think the Thayers witch hazel astringent also seems to help.

At least you showed your wife that you were willing to change for her.  Welcome "back" bro!

I haven't seen a dermatologist, and not sure I'm going to try one. I've found my relief, and that's being sly.

Schro,

When I was a teen, I had SD where I had the thick oily scales myself.  In that case, my dermatologist told me that it was due to nerves.  I also had it on my eyebrows and in my ears.  He told me to use a shampoo called, Zincon.  It was really good.  But then I couldn't find it anymore.  Back then, it was not cool to be sly.  Fortunately, the only place I now get SD is in my ears.  This was even before I went sly.  It seems like I grew out of it.  But I do know that it is a bitch to have!

Hopefully, the Lovely Mrs. Schro will no longer give you grief for going sly since she has seen that you have tried to please her.  Welcome back to the fold!

Welcome home schro.   Glad you're getting some relief.  Like Ty said, as least the lovely Mrs. Schro knows you gave it your best shot.

Welcome back, Schro.  But it really doesn't seem like you went anywhere.  You were still "SLY" the whole time.  (except when you were wearing that Raiders shirt...lol).

I hope you regain relief, skin problems suck.

I thought I remember a post where your wife even suggested it, so she may be reconciled to the fact, I hope so.

Consider a doctor, I use a dermatologist regularly for psoriasis, not in the scalp though.  He's got it under control, and if they can control that they probably can control SD with relatively mild and conservative treatment--but your sly solution works too.

BINGO.
Saint, I've tried twice to regrow it as an accomodation to the Lovely Mrs. Schro but both times, I've realized that once I've found relief from the pain/irritation of SD, I'm not interested in being forced to deal with it.

She knows what I've gone through and hopefully that's the end of it.

Welcome back.  Mrs. Schro knows you gave it your best!
