Okay this may seem backwards to some and I know that many have chosen the Sly look because of MPB but I am different. When I shaved my head I had lots of hair that was thick and grows quickly. I love the Sly look on me and have never felt better about myself then I have now. So I have no intenntion of going back to the days of hair.
However, my hair still grows quickly. I have to shave my head every day to keep a really smooth look. If I let it go for 2 days I look like I have a very short buzz cut. It's not that I mind shaving everyday it's just that it takes a little more time and I don't always have the time (and if you rush shaving your head you end up with all sorts of bumps, scrapes and cuts on your scalp). So was wondering do they make anything that slows down hair growth? I know everyone else is trying to grow hair I want to stop mine. Told you I was backwards.
Hey Aleut!
Don't have an answer for your question, but I doubt there is a "slow growth" product available.
What I want to state is that guys like me with MPB still have to shave everyday because there are large areas of think hair growth on the dome. For me and probably most MPB guys these are on the sides and back of the head.
So you are not alone in yours woes. Although I don't really consider having to shave a woe. I usually enjoy it, but it is a bit of a bother when I am in a rush.
Yeah: I'm sure that if there was a product that slowed growth of stubble then it would be used by quite a few guys for various reasons.
I, too, am quite capable of growing a full head of hair, but having being SLY for nearly 3 years I certainly don't intend to grow my hair back. For the first time in years I have actually found a style that I feel suits me, is easy to maintain and is ME. I don't have to comb it or style it, I don't wish I had this or that hairstyle, because the one I've chosen is the one I feel most comfortable with.
Hey aleut, one thing I don't worry about is the stubble, in fact it's this that tells me I will be shaving again the next day, or whenever I choose to. I don't mind it, and I really enjoy my shaving.
Many guys here will say the same thing.
I don't think there's anything to slow down hair growth. If you really want to shave every day, maybe you can change the time of day you shave your head to better suit your schedule.
Just a thought.
Well, do not waste time ! Go to shave
