Having bald friends is great
« on: February 17, 2009, 12:12:58 PM »
I just got back from visiting my uncle and I mentioned that I am going to shave my head he weekend after next and he said he would be glad to help in any way. He is all for me going bald and said that my dad should shave because he looks like a hippie.
Anyway then last night a friend came over and I noticed he was shaved down to just stubble and his other friend was smooth shaved. So I asked him why they did it and they both had similar answers-they got tired of being weighed down with hair and having to wash it and comb and all that. They said I would look cool being shaved. Then I was talking to my oldest brother about it (the one who used to be Sly) and he said that he too is thinking about starting to shave.

So I am pretty ecstatic about it, my girlfriend is all for it, my uncle, one of my brothers, and a few friends are supporting me. When I first starting thinking about it I was nervous and I still am alittle nervous about what some people will say, mainly my mother and some others.

Have any of you Sly guys managed to talk your friends into shaving before?

It's great that you have such a supportive network on going sly Lophura.    It will definitely make the transition easier.

Great that you have so much support around you. I have a friend who I think should shave but he wont because he thinks it would not be acceptable in his job  :/O

I don't think I would want to talk to anyone into going sly... it really needs to come from within.  "You can lead the cowboy to the horse... but the cowboy needs to get on... because if the horse gets on the cowboy, it's really messy."  Or something like that! Lol. There is one guy at work that I would love to see sly.  An addict to the HCFM, he needs to break that addiction.  But he has to make that choice.  Try it. If it isn't for you you can grow it back!  If you choose to go sly, give it a month... and shave sloooooow!
