Color back?
« on: January 25, 2009, 07:46:23 AM »
Now that I am going sly regularly, sly from a bunch of black hair, my scalp appears very white, even ashy for a day after I shave.  It certainly doesn't blend with my skin color.  I'm sure it's normal, but I'm wondering how long to get some color back in without tanning.  Also, shaving uncovered lots of "freckels" that because my skin appears so light colored look like age spots on my head and I'm not even 40 yet.   :Xo!

Sorry to ask such vain questions, but this seems to be the place to do so and get real answers.
Thanks again you guys.

Your skin tone will even out over time.  But you might consider a sunless tanner in the mean time.  Jergen's Natural Glow lotion is a good one that many have tried.  You can get a knock-off version at Wal-Mart for a couple of bucks if you would just like to try it out.

Slyinkc is right on point. In time your head color will even out. The first time I went Sly,my head was three shades lighter then my face.

Try applying a moisturizing lotion after shaving if you aren't already.  It could be that your scalp is just dry.

the jergens lotion stuff works too.  But Tyler has a point to.  Make sure you follow up wiht some kind of aftershave lotion.  Not the liquid aftershave splash you use on yoru face.  Try using 100% pure aloe vera, keep the bottle in the fridge as I do and its really refreshing , especially in the morning.

yea, I use the healthy glow, from the knock off brand,, I have to say I am pretty satisfied... however it does not protect against razor bumps, which I get every so often.
