It really depends on what you like. I actually alternate between Glossy and Matte.
I also get a great natural shine after using witch hazel too.

Shiny is the way to go! I have been looking for the "best" way to achieve this. I will try the Nivea and the shaving oil. Would Warhawk's "Shave Secret" work as well as the King of Shaves Oil?

Shiny for sure. I find that all I need to do is work a drop (literally one small drop) of Baby Oil with Vitamin E and work it in, followed by a splash of witch hazel or rubbing alcohol for a supreme shine.
