hello fellow chrome domes:  as most of U know... i'm a very proud sly RN.  i've had my shares of "shaving" stories.  yesterday at the hospital... one of my female nursing assistants said 2 me..."mel, the patient in rm#____, is too weak 2 shave his head & i feel uncomfortable & never ever shaved someone's head".  i quickly responded..."that's kewl... tell him i'll B right over there in 15 minutes 2 help him out".

when i approached my patient he had a "buzzed" horseshoe... he said 2 me..."mel... i am too weak 2 stand up & shave my head in the bathroom. can U help me?"  i said... do U have your own razor?  pt said..."no, i don't have my mach3 with me & i can't wait until tomorrow 4 my family 2 bring it 2 me".  i warned him:  "well... we have gillette disposable (good news) razors here in the hospital.  will that B okay?"  he said..."mel... anything 2 keep my head bald".  we both laughed. ;D

after the headshave... my patient was very happy.  he immediately gave himself the good ole "self head rub" & exclaimed...."wow.... that's feels better".  anyways.... the "joyful" look of that patient was priceless. O0  as we have stated b4... headshaving is absolutely liberating. O0 O0 O0

Also goes to show that no matter how unwell one is feeling, the urge to stay smooth is still priority #1.  Good job, Warhawk!!

Mel,

That's great!  I can relate to that.  I have a elderly friend from church who had a stroke.  So I have shaved him down about once a month.  It's about time I do it.  Look for my post, "Headshave for a good cause."
