Road rage

I find myself getting upset easily when I encounter idiots on the road. Some of the things that really piss me off are being tailgated and cut off. I know that I shouldn't do this... but whenever someone tries to pass me, I will speed up so they can't and then slow down when they pull back behind me lol. I do whatever I can to upset them because they are driving like idiots. Do you guys get as upset as me when you come into contact with these types of drivers? I know I need to cool down before I end up getting shot at.

I had written a previous response to this but decided to delete it as I did not like the spirit in which I wrote it.
There are people who drive inconsiderately for sure. I deal with them almost daily. However you might want to consider your actions are endangering not only the other driver but potentially yourself as well. If you feel a "need" to this you might want to spend some time contemplating why you feel this way. You might find you are not revealing their inadequacies but perhaps something in yourself that needs work.
A very wise piece of advise was given me I would like to pass on to you. When you have the choice to be RIGHT or be KIND, choose KINDNESS. What you put out tends to come back to you many times over.

And along those lines..something you might want to watch. It's up to you if you put it to practice or not.

A couple of years ago, a car full of teenagers did exactly what you described. And they did it going over a hill. They caused a terrible accident with a car coming the other way. Thre teenagers lives were ended instantly.
Think, think, think.......... and take Hammer's advise about kindness.

I've told this story before on here but I'll tell it again as a lesson. This is 100% true becaus eit happened to my Dad.
About7-8 years back a guy did this same exact thing to my Dad. And my da, who was in his mid sixties with a bad heart, had no idea what he did to piss the guy off. Well this big tough guy of about 30 years old started screaming at my Dad to "Pull over old man I'm going to kick your ass".
So my Dad just tried to avoid the guy and let the guy go about his business. Mister tough guy would have none of it and kept harrassing my Dad and yelling at him to pull over.
So all 5 foot 6 inches and 180 pounds of my Dad pulled over and Tough Guy pulled over right on top of him. The guy jumped out of his car, ran up to my Dad's window and was screaming "Get out you old bastard I'm going to kick your ass.
So my Dad hit the button to roll the window down and as he did he reached into his sock to grab "The Equalizer". A 22 pistol that he has a legal carry permit to carry.
He pointed at the guy and calmly said "I'd get back i my car if I were you".
The guy never said another word, ran back to his car, and got out of there as fast asa he could.
I asked Dad if he would have shot him. He said yes he wouldn't have hesitated if the guy had reached for him.
I wouldn't have blamed him at all.
Take a good lesson from this story my friend................

We all have been in situations where we would like to teach someone a lesson but as I have aged and hopefully become wiser practicing kindness and the golden rule first is the best way. But when trouble comes looking, be prepared like Mike's dad was. Don't become a victim.

There are a great many things that anger me, I just turn the music up louder and let it be.

Yeh I agree with the things people have said, its all well and good having a moan to yourself about inconsiderate drivers, no disrepect to you but the whole speeding up/slowing down stuff is dangerous not just for you but any innocent drivers coming in the opposite direction!!

Gloss, Lucky I wasnt the one who was tryin to pass you. If i was in an older car, I would have ran your ass off the road, ticket or no ticket. But seriously, I would have jotted down your license plate number and bet your ass I would have called you in. Not good to take matters in your own hands while driving, so let the authorities handle it. Dont believe me? I have done ti once before, even followed the guy until authorities had them in sight.

This happened to my wife this weekend. A guy was driving very slow in the left lane, so she tried to pass him on the right. He sped up and she barely go over before the lane ended. Then on the highway he did everything to block her from getting around.
Maybe some people have a complex about people getting ahead of them? If someone wants to pass, just let them.
Sometimes I won't pass a slow person if they just turned ahead of me, because I figure they are accelerating anyway.

The thing I hate most is when people don't indicate if they are turning or going round a traffic island. I also hate cars who go in and out on a duel-carriageway between parked cars.
There are a lot of tail-gaters in UK and people drive too fast. Nearly every day in the Birmingham local paper we have five or six car crashes where people have been killed, usually aged under twenty-five.

The thing is humans tend to be happier when they feel connected to other people. By trying to piss
off a human being one goes against this. Do you ever see lonely people happy.........probably not.
About kindness and doing good. If you are religious then you already know kindness is a must. I remember
a priest saying on tv that you do good to others, even to those who are not good to you. You do good even to
those who are not good to you because nothing that they do can take away your ability to do good.
If you are not religious then you just have to keep in mind that doing good to others brings a sense of peace to yourself. Doing good to others will fill in that need we humans have of wanting a connection with other humans.
Most people believe in the what goes around come around. We are all humans and we make mistakes. Sometimes we do it because we are inconsiderate and sometimes because they are unintentional. You just never know when you will need someone else to be kind to you. You may do something inconsiderate and need whoever is affected by your actions to show you kindness.
