At what temperature do you Cover Da Dome?
« on: December 02, 2008, 01:13:47 PM »
In welcoming our new Scot Sly, John05, it came to mind that there is a temperature, for me anything less than 40 degrees farenheit, that I cover up w/ a beanie or other protective gear.  What's your temperature to go for the cover?  I'm really glad to have the beanie in my gym bag leaving the gym in the morning when it's cold and I'm sweaty from a workout.

Depends on a lot of things buddy. Windchill plays a big part and living on the coast we get a lot of wind. But I also work in a cold room which sits at +2c so I am a bit immune to the cold. As a rule I always have a beanie with me just in case. Went to Stockholm last winter and it was -14c. Wish i had 2 beanies on then .....lol

It has to be really, really bitter cold for me.  I hate wearing hats.

It has to be really cold for me to cover it: generally below freezing, or if it's snowing.  Apart from that i don't like wearing a hat of any kind 8)

My head gets cold very easily. I wear a beanie around the house in the winter and sometimes even wear one to bed. I guess there is no particular temperature when I wear a hat or beanie but mostly wear them in the winter months.

for me it all depends on how long I am going to be outdoors.  If it is a little chilly outside, I will carry a hat in case I start to get chilled.   As for warm weather, above 80 degrees I carry something to absorb the sweat.

I never, ever wear a hat.  I think it has to do with a career in the military and being required to wear one every time I was out of doors.  I don't cover the old dome unless it is below zero and I am out for an extended period of time.

I've always hated hats.  It was always a battle with my mom when I was a kid to get me to wear one.  As soon as I was a safe distance from the house, off it came.  I didn't really start wearing them until about 10 years ago when my hair became thin enough for my scalp to get burned.  Now I'll wear a baseball cap in the summer for protection from the sun, and a stocking cap if it gets down to sub-Arctic temperatures.

I also really hate it when the weather does start to get a bit chilly and everybody in the world admonishes me for not covering my bald head. :Xo!
