Ooops! Buzzed off the goat.
« on: November 30, 2008, 09:21:07 AM »
It seems like once every 5 years or so I goof up speed trimming my goat and have to buzz it off. It grows back fast enough where I don't panic *too much* but this is the first time in my adult life that I've been sly with no beard or goat.

After buzzing it off I had to go to a friends 40th birthday party at a local tavern (he's sly also) . Only 1 of the dozen or so golf buddies even noticed I had shaved the goat off. Short story shorter, I ended up staying out till about 4am with a petite sweetheart I worked up the courage to introduced myself to. The bar was packed and there were only 2 sly guys for ALL those women (lots of hats though, Hah!). Funny thing... my sly friend and I were the only ones who didn't go home alone. How's that for representing!?!

I feel quite naked still but I'm wondering if I should work the Mr. Clean for a while. Let me know what you think. -Thanks

Picture quality is lousy from the blackberry but it's all I have right now.

I know how you feel, as someone who has been almost my whole life with a tash or goat.  i shaved mine off in September and felt really naked, but I am enjoying the 'Mr Smooth' look at the moment.  I daresay i will grow the goat back at some  time, but for now I'm keepin it clean.

You look great with or without the goat: I don't really think you look younger or older, it's just different.  Try leaving it off a while and see how it goes. O0

Seems you've answered your own question.
Chicks dig a clean faced sly. Try the Mr. Clean look for a while.

That's what I'm currently sporting now too. My wife hates any sort of facial scruff. But that hasn't stopped me from wearing a goatee or beard when I feel a need to grow something.

The Mr. Clean look suits you well.  Since you're already there, stick with it for a while.  I know what you mean about feeling naked; we all feel that way after shaving facial hair that's been there for a while.

FWIW, I do think you look younger without the goat.

You look great that way. I have only had a fully shaven face a couple of times in the last 20 years. I prefer..as does my wife..at least a goatee on me. But some guys look great fully shaven.

You look younger and friendlier without the goat.  What I'm wondering is how the heck do you accidentally shave off part of your goatee?  How hard is it to shave around it? (I currently have a goatee lol)

I was hoping I wouldn't be asked that.

I don't have a drinking problem but damn, every time I get a case of those twisted teas I drink them like they're bottled water.

Anyway... There I was... not exactly sober... Braun trimmer in hand... Brain got crisscrossed while trimming in the mirror. Brain said down and a little left, hand went down and a little right. I didn't remove it accidentally I just made it WAY too narrow for my liking.

Wasn't penicillin discovered by accident?!  O:O

Mix it up a bit. You can always grow it back whenever you get tired of shaving the face.

You do look younger w/o the goat. But my sixth sense is telling me that you're a dude that wants more edge. I say grow out your soul patch. That should give you just the right amount of edge.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm going to see how that soul patch comes in. It's the least gray part of my head... for now.

Vampire, that was quite flattering. Thanks for that! ^-^
