What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
« on: November 27, 2008, 09:04:08 AM »
With the world's economy tanking, it is so easy to be fearful. But I am of the belief that there are still MANY things to be thankful about.  I also know that Canada, for example already had Thanksgiving and other countried don't celebrate it.  But I think this would be a good time for an exercise in Thanksgiving.  While I am a Christian, I believe that you don't have to be a Christian or have any faith to be thankful for something!  So here are some things I am thankful for.

To start I am thankful for my faith and relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for a wonderful group of family and friends who love and support me.  I am thankful for a comfortable apartment with reasonable rents plus abundant food and clothing.  I am thankful to have a car that has been repaired but with no car payments.  I am thankful to live in Seattle where in less than a hour I can be in the mountains or some other really beautiful place.  I am thankful that I can be in Canada in about 2 hours.  I am thankful to live in a free country where there are many freedoms: religion, speech, ability to disagree with the government, the ability to do our own thing...etc.
I am thankful for the gifts and abilities that God gave me.  I am thankful for being me, this balding, overweight, hairy guy, who looks great with a shaved head!  I am thankful for modern technology and the ability to access the internet.  I am thankful that because of the internet, I am able to make the friends I have made here on Sly Bald Guys, so I am thankful for all of you!!!!!!!!  I am also thankful for my cat, Misha who is a good kitty.  The list goes on!!!!!

So let's see what you are all thankful for!

That I killed or hurt no one (other than myself) in my recent wreck

Thankful for the continued good health of my family and friends, thankful to live in America and think and worship the way I want.

Great topic on a great day Marsh.

I'm thankful:

That my parents and my in-laws are still here to celebrate with us.

That 14 years ago and met the amazing woman that changed my life.
That the same amazing woman chose to marry me and give us two great children.

That my 23 year old son has turned out to be such a fine young man with good moral convictions.

That God has given me the opportunities to be aware of others that may need a little help and the chance to help them.

for SBG and some of the friendships that I've made here.

Mostly I'm than just thankful to have such a good life.

I'm VERY thankful for:  A wonderful wife. :@`  A super family.  My faith in God.  Going from unemployed to having the opportunity to work 2 great jobs.  Wonderful friends.  A nice home to rest my weary bones.  And things I probably haven't thought of.

And last, but not least, my Brothers and Sisters here at SBG! O0

Mike,
Congrats on having a son turning into a fine young man.  That's the result of your good work as a father.  Enjoy the results!!! ;)

I am thankful to have found a way to deal with baldness.  When I started losing hair 4-5 years ago I didn't think I would get over losing hair.  Since I have been shaving for the past 3 months I have come to realize that hairloss is not so bad (especially when shaving it fits you well).    I am grateful that I am alive today, after having 2 dead men right in front of my apartment unit from gun shots.

I'm thankful that all of my siblings and my parents live within an hours drive.  Being single, it is so great to have my extended family around to hang out.  I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head, two great dogs (that are laying at my feet right now), and a job that is rewarding to me.  I'm thankful for a wonderful church home.  Finally, I'm glad to find a bunch bald guys that I can relate with, even if I'm not sly yet.

I'm thankful for my family, my beautiful wife and two great kids.
My parents and in-laws, my great church home and family there.

Living in a free country and my great SLY friends. There's not enough room to list everything.
