HELLo
« on: November 25, 2008, 03:20:57 PM »
Hey folks.
My name is Russ, and obviously am new to the forum.

I just shaved for the first time this past Friday.
My Mom and my Sister were both diagnosed with breast cancer back in October (breast cancer awareness month, no less).  My Mom started some pretty aggressive chemo almost right away, and has already started loosing her hair.
My sister had a double mastectomy, and luckilly may not need chemo.
I shaved my head in support of my Mom's current hair style, and the possibility of my Sister loosing her hair if she needs chemo.

I have been wanting to shave my head for a while now.  And this seemed like the right time, and the right reason.  So here I am, bald.

I am enjoying the morning ritual of shaving.  It's gives me some "Me" time in the morning before my lovely Wife and daughter get up.  I also like the feeling of being a baldy!  It's new and different.  The closest I came to being bald before was back in Navy boot camp in 1987.

My first shave was with my normal razor, a Sensor 3.  I picked up a headblade the next day and tried it out.  It was a little rough on the first try, but by the next day I had it down.  I am really digging the headblade.
I'm going to try to use my Sensor 3 blade in it tomorrow and see if I can't get a little closer shave with that.

Welcome. That is a great way to show your support for you mom and siss!
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.
