Holiday Appreciation
« on: November 22, 2008, 06:33:36 AM »
Hey Brothers and Sisters,

Over the next few weeks we will all most likely be spending time with friends and family. Sometimes with all the holiday commercialism, gift buying, making and preparing meals its easy to loose sight of what this season ishould really be all about. In addition of celebration of various faiths its a time we should all be thankfull for those special people in our lives. I know the older I get it seems there are fewer and fewer family members around and even though my parents have been passed on for sometime the holidays are still hard when I think about them. This December 16th will be the first anniversary of my mom-in-laws passing and my wife also lost a brother in December back in 2004 so that month is especially hard for her.

Lets all try to realize that even in these economic times we still have alot to be thankfull for. Most importantly the people in our lives. So don't forget to tell them. Always remember yesterday is the past...tomorrow is not promised..there is only the gift of today..thats why it is called "the present."

Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.

Very well said, Hammer.  Even at our "worst" times, we have so much to be thankful for.  We just need to take a few minutes during this season to stop and be thankful.

great idea and post hammer. i am thankful for my kids and family first. i am also thankful for my close friends. even though i am not in the ideal positon this year, i am trying to keep my chin up. it could be much worse. i have a decent job, roof over my head, health, and i can still laugh.
