how do you take a picture with a webcam lol?

Yeah this is really embarrassing isn't it? 

I talked to one of my sisters on msn yesterday and invited her to a video conv.  and my webcam works.
I have a laptop and you know the camera is right at the top of the screen.  I could see my shaved head
through the video.  Oh boy do I look good!!!

So, I want to take a picture with it if possible.  Is it?   You see I don't see any icons on my computer screen
that will open up the camera program or whatever it's called so I could take a picture.
I even went under "all programs" and typed in web camera, web camera assistant and no items show up.

Any tips would be appreciated.  Have a great weekend all.

whay kind of computer do you have?  On the mac in Ichat click on video then video preview and then then click on video again and then snapshot.  sounds more complicated then it is.  Hope this helps.

I have a Toshiba laptop.
umm, here is what it says in the manual
"Using the software
The Web Camera software is pre-configured to start when you turn on
Windows Vista; if you need to restart it go to Start  All Programs
Camera Assistant Software  Camera Assistant Software."

When I click on camera assistant software icon nothing opens up.  It will not open anything.
I can right click on it but that doesn't help.  There is the open option there too but no program
opens up.

maybe this will work

1.  hit the "prt scr" key (stands for print screen, to right of F12)
2.  go into paint or some program that shows images and "copy"

I use this with every webcam I've had that didn't come with software.

You can set it up to use a ftp server, motion activated capture, single shot etc etc it's pretty powerful and best of all FREE

ok I hit the "prt scr" key many times and nothing came up. 

However,  after downloading yawcam things work now!!!!!!!!!
