Any "Hot Tea" drinkers out there?
« on: November 12, 2008, 07:01:21 PM »
I don't drink coffee but about a year ago i started buying and brewing "loose leaf" tea.
The number of choices of tea is phenominal.

I love my cup of tea in the AM and a nice hearty cup on a cold evening.

Anybody else a hot tea guy?

Funny you should mention that...Jimmy Buffett has a song about.............nevermind.

Seriously, today I was thinking about adding some type of tea in the evening as a "wind down" beverage (not interested in ditching my morning cup o' joe). Any recommendations?

I have about an average of 8 cups a day.  PG Tips with a dash of milk.   )-m

maybe this is just me, I dunno...but why is that hot tea is sterotyped as a drink for the ladies?  I am sorta relieved to see that there other MEN who drink hot tea.  I dunno, maybe that is just a false perception that had been imbedded in my mind a long time ago.  I dont ever recall anyone telling me it was...I just thought that I guess.

I drink hot tea on an occassion, but not often.  Any kind of "hot" drink I drink is on cold rainy days or nights.  Never in the summer time.

It's the stereotype of little old ladies having a tea party.  Take a trip to the UK or Ireland and visit any construction site.  It's very common for the workers to have a mug of strong, milky tea during their breaks.  Or if you have someone working in your house, you're expected to provde tea at regular intervals.  Tea is the second-most widely drunk beverage in the world, right behind water.

Big tea drinker here.  But it has to be Barry's Irish Tea or nothing.

If you want to find good quality tea at bargain-basement prices, go to an Indian grocery store.  You can get some really good stuff for unbelievable prices.  Brooke Bond Taj Mahal and Lipton Yellow Label are two of my favorites.  I won't touch the Lipton that is sold in US supermarkets, but the Lipton Yellow Label that is blended for the international market is really good.  It's on a par with Barry's, PG Tips, etc.

I switched to tea for breakfast say 6 years ago. I will have decafe coffee at a Diner (coffee shop) or 7-11. I prefer Red Rose, Lipton or whatever is on special. Someone bought me vanilla raspberry tea and that's good too.

I loves me some tea. Nothing like the whistle of a kettle on a cold wet winters night.

I drink a lot of Barry's or Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea and Celestial Seasonings "Madagascar Vanilla Red Rooibas" tea. Very tasty.
