We either have corn bread or tortilla chips with our chilli.  My wife makes ours with ground turkey.

Having lived in a hotel for 3 months now, we've not made it in quite some time.  That's one of the dishes I'm looking forward to having again soon after we move into our new house.

..and hot corn bread

I've never had corn bread, I might have to find a good recipe for this weekend

Corn bread....well I am sure there are many good recipes out there.  The best that I have found and is probably the top seller here in the Good Ol USA is Jiffy brand cornmuffin mix.  That stuff is the bomb....

Maybe this just comes from having a family with many generations of rice farmers, but you HAVE to eat chili with rice. Rice is also apparently good to have with pretty much everything else!

I was going to say the same thing Ross. Chili con Carne over rice is awesome.

Try it with some shredded cheddar and chopped onions too!

Yeah shredded cheese is a given but onions not so much. I have an uncle though, man, he likes a little chili with his half pound of onions!!!

LOL ...alot of the way I eat it has already been said...but I use them all together...

I'll top it with cheese and onions and a big ole dollop of sour cream, and have a big piece of cornbread to go with it. Great...now I'm hungry again @c3

If you make corn bread, cut up some of your favorite hot chili peppers and throw them in... also a small handful of jack cheese is a nice touch.

I've been told by many that I make great chili.

When I was a kid we ate our chili over rice.

But now..... chili should only be served with onions and cheese.

Good chili doesn't really need anything added on top...... but some nice corn bread on the side is good.

I'm making a big pot of chili on Saturday. I'm having some friends over on Sunday to watch the Ravens beat the Giants.... and we'll be enjoying that chili with some nice spicy corn bread.

And of course you have to wash it all down with cold BEER!!!

i am just amazed...I have never heard of eating chili and cornbread.  I guess I am more southern that I thought.  They dont eat chili and cornbread in the south do they?  I always had the cornbread with ham/beans  or with liver and onions.

Can't get more Southern than the Crescent City, and corn bread--w/ jalopenos please--is a standard w/ chili.  Ham/beans, liver and onions--that's midwestern.  Now Ham hocks w/ black eyed peas and greens or a plate of red beans and rice--those are southern!

Chili con Carne, shredded cheese, chopped onions with some freshly made flour tortillas. Throw in a couple of ice cold Dos Equs and I am good to go.
