Best way to repair head nicks/cuts

I was shaving yesterday when I got a nice cut above my ear. I don't cut my head as nearly as much as when I started shaving but it's inevitable to get one every now and then.
I have found that if I take care of it it doesn't look as bad and it'll heal quicker.
Here's my cut repair:
If I'm in the shower I wash the blood out.
I rinse with cold water on the area, then I hold ice on it for a minute or two.
Apply pressure.
Put Neosporin or something anti-bacterial on it.
I frequently apply neosporin and lotion to the area and rinse it gently to prevent a scab from forming.
If I take these steps then it's just a red spot, and I can usually shave over it within a day or two, and it'll be gone in a week.
Does anybody have a post-cut routine like this? Or a better one?

Thanks for the tips Dome of Steele!!!
For a beginner (been shaving for 2 months and 9 days now) I have a better
way to take care of cuts just don't get any !!! lol.. Shaving only with the grain
helps get no cuts at all, but of course then there's the dark shadow
When I get cuts I usually scream a bit and don't do anything to the region that's cut.
Maybe grab a kleenex to clean the blood.
The next time I get a cut I will try your tips!! Thanks again.

Although it can sting with nicks and cuts, I always do an alum rub after each shave. It has antiseptic properties and helps heal even minor skin irritations, also closes pores tighter than a drum lol.
Feels great and helps me know where I need to work on my shaving skills.
If I have a good bleeder I'll grab the styptic pencil and rub it around until the bleeding stops, get ready, then re-check.

I still cut myself every now and then. This is what I do. First of all, I let the cold water run for a minute to close the pores. I then get out and apply those white nick sticks which i recommend because they do work well and lastly, I apply moisturizer. If the cut is bad, I skip a day or two to help with the healing process

I think as time goes on the likelihood of getting a cut lessens. Cross my fingers as I say this, but I havent cut myself in a long time now. You sorta get the hang of it and know the do's and dont's. Just take yoru time and becareful. I also use the styptic pencil if I get a cut. It burns...but it works almost instantly.

If it's bad I put cayenne pepper on it, coagulates it instantly.

I cut myself very badly yesterday............ it bled for over an hour. So no shave today. My mostly grey stubble looks like an early season snowstorm hit my head.
