Recently I posted that I see a lot of sly guys on the train and on the street on a daily basis, and virtually all of them are 30-and40-something MPB guys. Today I saw a guy who was probably in the 35-40 age range, wearing a suit, who'd shaved a full head of hair. He had a good bit of shadow, which revealed a very low hairline, so I think this guy would probably have a full head of thick hair if he wanted it. I haven't seen any BBC guys, especially "suit" types, since I don't know when. It's cool to see that there are still guys out there who really want to be bald.

I think there are very, very few guys out there who could not be converted to slyness. I think most people who give it a try and follow the 30 day rule have a hard time going back to hair. I'll bet that there are plenty of guys out there who would never dream of shaving their heads, but if they could be talked into it, would be won over to the sly side. -

I think you're right on. I was just talking to my brother-in-law last night. He has mentioned several times that he would like to try it but my sister won't let him. We're going to a Chief's game in 2 weeks and I told him that we should both have our heads shaved and painted red. Maybe we would get on camera on the jumbo-tron. I couldn't quite talk him into, but I think I know that he wants to.

Keep working on him. Cook up some kind of a story so you'll take the heat from your sister, instead of him. Tell her you got him really drunk or something and he didn't realize what was happening.

I shave since i'm MPB and my older brother is really jealous. He still has a full head of hair but is a triathlete and really wants to shave but can't bring himself too it because of work (he's a big-wig at Dell) and my sis-in-law. I don't think I ever would have had the courage to do it if I wasn't losing my hair naturally. I remember when I was a kid looking at men with really short hair or shaved heads and wishing my hair would thin so I would have an excuse to shave it off.

I agree with Hookem.....I think it takes less courage to shave with us guys that already have hair loss....I myself, would probably not have shaved if it wasn't for the hair loss .... I guess that's why I hardly ever have anyone ask me why I shaved my head.....

With MPB, it isn't so much a "fashion or style" statement as yielding to the inevitable, and taking the best course. For the guys w/ a full head of hair, first they have to overcome a man issue, that is men just don't change their hair cut styles very often, and for that matter barbers or even wallets. It's just generally not on the radar. Some BBC guys have something driving it, employment issues where long hair, more than 1", isn't tolerated or safe, some have skin conditions that just do better sly, like Brother Schro. So a BBC guy does stand out!
For the MPB crowd, it's a "growing"
trend from what I see in the business community, traveling, etc.--more guys w/ MPB issues are just doing the natural thing. I mean I can't remember a gathering of any size whatsoever where I'm the only sly guy, there's always another dome, or at least a close #1 buzz around. Flying, it looks like the sly guys are all on the road, dressed for business too!
I'm glad the choice is out there for us, and I think it's going to continue to increase the sly population. The only loss will be the sort of unique reaction that we get, or used to get. At one year plus out now I rarely get any comments anymore. Most were good, and felt good, I just sorta of miss that. -

Ahoy, mates. I agree with Saintc. Slyness is the obvious/inevitable choice for those of us who undergo MPB. But there is something more: years ago, long before the slickdome was mainstream, when I had a full head of hair, something in me was fascinated by the prospect of shaving down to the bone. I can't tell whether it was an aesthetic, counterculture, rebellious, or male-assertive impulse; probably a combination of all four elements. Now that I have been "clean" for 2+ years, I realize that it was not just the hopelessness of thinning that made the decision, the plunge as those still considering it, right for me. If a low-cost pill were on offer that could completely restore my hair I very much doubt that I would take it. If I overcame fear of the water, and then some one offered me a chance to regain my fear, would I take it? Hell, no! Professor Melon

That is a great point, Prof.
Not a great point as I don't see where having a fear of water and therefore death by drowning and such equates to wanting to have hair, which last I checked, couldn't kill you. -

Simply said, the idea is that some men fear balding. Why would he take a pill giving him hair to fear balding again.
Sounds like you need to take your pill, dude.
