I would like to thank you all for helping me to get off the fence. So far it's been one of the best decisions I've made. My story somewhat mirrors jss5579 . That thread really gave me the push to make the jump. So thanks to Scott and your encouragement to him it has freed me from the feeling of needing to buy my hair to feel happy with the way I look. I have worn hair for almost 30 years back when shaving wasn't nearly as accepted as today. My wife and four kids have been very supportive in fact the day I decided to shave I'm standing in front of the mirror with all the stuff laid out a little hesitant she grabs the shears and says here we go and there it went. My wife and daughter think I look better my boys think it's cool but just another hair cut. I told my daughter she's not getting any money for her compliments but she said I'm just telling the truth Dad. Having worn hair for so many years and you decide to shave there really is no turning back as all you can grow back is a horse shoe. It's been two weeks and most of the responses have been why would you shave your head. As you all know there are many. So if you all got some quick witted responses I would love to hear them. Again I wish you all the best and look forward to being part of the gang. So to all you hair wearing lurkers like me out there jump in, the water's fine. Thanks all

Welcome Sonshine and congrats on shedding the rug! It is a liberating feeling to shave it the first time. Plus, the fact your wife is so supportive of it is a bonus (mine hates it). I'm sure you'll being to realize all the positives going sly as time goes by.
As far as comebacks go:
"God made a few perfect heads, the rest he put hair on"
"The less hair you have, the more head you get"
I know there are many more, but those two quickly came to mind.
If people don't like it, just tell them "It's my head, mind your own damn business".

Plus....how many men with a full head of hair get headrubs from the ladies?

Again, welcome!

I'm glad you've found the Freedom of Sly

, but one question--if your wife and kids like it, and YOU like it, who else matters?

There are several of us who would just be happy if the wife was totally w/ it. Congradulations, you're home and free. Enjoy.

Welcome to SBG's sonshine, glad you joined us in the land of sly. Feels good to be free, doesn't it?
Like the other bro's have said, you've got the support of your family, so that's all that matters.
You don't even have to answer that stupid question of why would you shave your head, but I would just tell them because I wanted to. And I quote the Schroman, mind your business, it's my head!

My favorite response.....although I don't eally hear any crap about shaving my head....
is "And you think what you have going on there looks better than this??!!??"
