Hello, straight from the NW is another bald guy, well i'm 22 and losing hair like a mother F, but i figure that i'm screwed but theres always hope ha, i started losing hair around 18, but i've been shaving my head with a one guard since i was 17 till now, almost bi-weekly so maybe i can blame my hairloss on that..ha, well anyways i joined to find a place where i can talk to more people about this problem, (there really isn't too many bald people at my college!) anyways i currently am considering shaving it all off but i'm waiting till i graduate, i figure outside college it will be more acceptable... right now most of the balding is on the front of my head, around the crown, I may be going bald but I thank god that he gave me a pretty face ha! anyways like i said i'm thinking about bic'ing it, but i'm kind of scared to take that leap, anyways feel free to hit me up pm or whatever if you got questions or just for fun!
Nick

Hey there Nick... from the bottom of the state,(Vancouver)...
Seriously...shave your head smooth bro...
right now you're still balding (def. shows through with the tight buzzcut)..but shaved smooth WILL give you an edge...make people ask why...show interest..
and believe it or not...it's good to stand out..some nice lookin' girl (or dude to be PC

) might notice you because of it..
which is good...bro you want the people that think progressive..they'll help make your life that much more enjoyable..
shave your head smooth bro...I KNOW there are a ton of slick guys around you everyday..
maybe just not immediately in your classes!
Good luck and go for it..
A smart man starts living early in his (our) relatively short lives!
BTW you'll look awesome bald...also btw, which the world sees you now as anyways!

)...anyways i currently am considering shaving it all off but i'm waiting till i graduate, i figure outside college it will be more acceptable...
Wrong. Take advantage of the fact that you're in college; it's the perfect time to do something like this. You're an adult so you don't need permission from your parents, and you're in a more-or-less non-judgemental environment where pretty much anything goes appearance wise. If you wait until graduation, you want to do it because you'll be worried about job prospects (another false fear). You're too young to be straddled with that receding hairline so just take it down to the skin now. You'll be glad that you did.

I would do a zero, then shave it smooth with a razor...keep it smooth, then you can ditch the clippers

...
I found (and it was a long time ago) that buzzing it to a 0 actually hurt more and was a pain than razoring it everyday...
Let us know how it goes bro!

I agree. Just buzz it as short as you can and after that the razor blade is your best friend. Be sure to use a good quality razor (Mach III, Fusion, Schick Quattro) and some decent shaving gel.

Not much to add as the other bros have already given you great advice except welcome Nick and keep asking those questions. You'll find plenty of advice and support here.
