Hey Everyone,
So I took a day off from shaving today because I'm starting to get a few razor bumps. Not a lot, but enough for me to take the day off. Is this because my head is still adjusting to being shaved; or is it because I need to change my shave routine? I shave against the grain with my HB, and I usually make multiple light passes over trouble spots. I usually don't get completely smooth after one pass, so I have to go again. I sometimes even move the blade upwards from my ear to the crown of my head (that seems to be the region of my head I have the most problems getting smooth). However, I'm not getting razor bumps in one specific area. I have handful (or a headful, I guess), but they're just spread out.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Jay, try shaving WITH the grain first and then against it. Also, are you using a cold water rinse to close your pores after shaving? In addition, some guys have had great success with a witch hazel application after shaving or using ClearHead.
Thanks, Paul. I will be sure to go with the grain first.
I do rinse my head with cold water after I shave. And when I'm all done I use L'Oreal Men's Sport aftershave balm with 15 SPF. Would the witch hazel/ClearHead replace aftershave, or be used in addition to it?

Great advice by Paul, and I agree. Try shaving with the grain only for a few days to let your scalp irritation ease up.
I use the witch hazel usually every other day, sometimes more. Then you can put on whatever moisturizer or sunscreen you prefer to use.
Bald Guyz moisture gel is the most soothing by far.
When did u start shaving? Because you said your head still adjusts? ... for me it took about 3 weeks for my scalp to adjust to the everday routine...always got inflamed razorbumps when i started shaving, but as time passes by, ur head will get used to it.....
if not maybe try out some other shaving-lubricant and/or aftershave..
i just orderer some headslick, headshed and headlube, cause so many guys round here like it...i hope this stuff is awesome!
I've got to ask to make sure I don't get it confused.... what is the difference between razor bumps and ingrown hair bumps? Or is the terminology used interchangeably?

I THINK they are one in the same,,
My head did that ,, Clear Head cleared it up. I looked and couldn't find, 'till last night,, Witch Hazel.
