On Tuesday I got a new car......

So i've been looking at cars for about three weeks.
I had a bottom of the line PT Cruiser that I bought as a commuter car back in 2006.
It was a great car.... I put 75,000 miles on it and it never blinked in 2.5 years.

But I wanted something a lot nicer.... and with the current rebates offered it's a good time to buy.

So I narrowed my choices down to 4 cars and went and drove them and priced them out. I really liked the looks of th Pontiac G6.... but I drove it and hated the way it drove.
Off the list it went.

Then I looked at the new Chevy Malibu. Real nice car but out of the price range I wanted to stay in.
Also off the list.

I also looked at the Chevy Impala.... nice car but a bit too much of a "geezer" car for me.
Off the list...........

Then I did something I haven't done in the last twenty five years of car ownership... i drove a Ford. My last Ford was a 1982 Taurus that I had a lot of trouble with.
I drove a 2009 Fusion. Man what a nice car.
I loved it and so did the wife.


So I bought one..... Vapor Metallic, Automatic (4 cyl). It's fairly loaded too....

Sunroof
AM/FM 6 CD Changer
Sirius Satellite radio (I love that!)
Voice Sync for phone and media (The coolest thing ever in a car)
Power everything
Cruise
Sport Package (18 in custom wheels, leather trimmed interior w/red accents, sport suspension, auto day/night rear view mirror, rear spoiler)

Man what an improvement!! It's rated at 28 MPG but some on-line research tells me that nearly everyone is getting 32-34 MPG highway.

Yeah, Mike....We are looking at SUVs too....came across that FUSION ourselves.....good gas mileage for an SUV.  Really cool look.

I bought a escape in 06 and love it. Had to replace the speakers right away and drop in a amp, but other than that I have done nothing to it and have had no issues at all. I bought a sport model with a tow package. Anyway, Ford seems to have improved since the taurus years!

My truck had to go into the shop last year because my wife didn't bother to look in her mirrors before she put her car in reverse and hit the gas in the driveway - but I won't go there.

Anyway, at the car rental place they gave me a Ford Edge.  Problem was I was afraid I would be taken out of the will.  LOL  Hard core Chevy family here.  I was impressed though.  Had lots of room and drove great.
