Now that I'm Sly, I'll re-introduce myself
« on: October 15, 2008, 10:45:50 AM »
Did it this morning!  When you have it in your head to shave, you just can't wait.  Five days ago I had hair, and my plan was to buzz it shorter and shorter over time.  I was too anxious.  Had to do it before work this morning.

I think it looks great (even a hint of badass).  Feels great.  It's just awesome.  I can't wait for tomorrow morning so I can shave it again.  Good reactions so far.

I might thin out my goatee and see how it looks with the bald head.  Sometimes I grow it out full, and sometimes I cut it to just thin lines.

Now that I've done the deed, I need to look at all the products that can help me stay sly.  I shaved in the shower with whatever shave gel I have and a Fusion razor.  Worked fine.  My head now feels greasy.  Speaking of, what do you wash your head with?  I'll look around the forums for the answer.

Welcome in the world of slyness.  O0

Nice looking sly head - really it suits.

Keep it smooth!

BTW I wash my head with HeadWash by HB and use the other day HeadShed.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

Hey SlyHigh, Welcome to the world of smooth and free, feels great doesn't it?

It looks good bro, keep it that way. The goatee works either way, and I do the same, sometimes grow it out, then trim it back to short.

You may want to try HeadSlick shave cream or Bald Guyz shave gel, both work great and really reduce irritation. Try the Bald Guyz headwipes too, if you're prone to oily skin. They work great and refresh quite well.

Keep us posted, and keep it smooth!     O0

No laser for me!

As far as irratation, I have none so far.  No bumps or red spots.

How long until the "numb" feeling goes away?  The same feeling your lip has when you shave off a moustache.  I like feeling my head but I need some of those wipes.  It's oily (even though my hair never was).

So at least now you can't see my grey hair, but in that pic you can really see the grey in my goatee.  I used to have red hairs in it.

I plan on staying sly, but I've been known to change my hair very often.  Some people today said "it seems like every time I see you there's a new hairstyle."  I just felt it was getting too thin to gel up, and without gel I didn't think I looked sharp enough.  Some days I'm in t-shirt, jeans, and boots, but I really like being able to look good when I want.

Enjoy the numbness while you can.... I miss that feeling  :(

Best part of being sly is your head always looks good, even when you just wake up!

Anyways, you were born to be Sly  O0

O0 O0 O0: Welcome, SlyHigh and congrats you your new look; looks great on you--wouldn't touch the goat. Haven't posted for a while (lots of academic work and bouts of sciatica and gout), but happy to be home. SBG is THE best site for conversation on all aspects of slyness on the web. Coming on the second anniversary of decision to take it all off. I have never regretted that choice--wish I had done it sooner. To any guy going through the thinning process, I'd say:  shave your dome and live with it for a month. I doubt you'll reverse your decision. All best, Professor Melon

SlyHigh, it looks great, and the goatee is a good fit for you.
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?
