October is one of the few things I miss about living in New England.
I do have some Bradford Pears in my front yard that turn spectacular colors if conditions are right, but they can't compete with the maples that I used to have.

I agree with you BB, but I bet you don't miss the winters..!!! Fall is beautiful but the -20 temps and blowing wind and snow is something I could do without. I'd much rather be in Texas in January, February and March....

Not one iota -- and the winters are why I'm no longer there. I'll never live in the snow belt again.

I miss the fall colors, and hopefully we'll see them next year. Before Katrina we went to North Carolina around Cashiers for a week every year in October, preferably the third week for day hiking and color and a real break from the heat and humidity. A good bottle around the fire at night--really nice. Storm blew a lot of stuff out of line, but hopefully we'll get back to doing that in '09.

I live in Connecticut and the fall colors are spectacular this year. We were in Stockbridge, Mass. this weekend and the foliage was pretty nice. I'm not one to go out of my way to look at the leaves, but this time of year it's nice around here, driving through the rolling hills.
I still love a good harsh winter, too ...

The aspens are the only trees that have turned yellow here so far. Soon the tamarack, maples, and fruit trees will start to turn yellow.

Beautiful pics, Brk, and one of the things I miss about NY.
Fall was always my favorite time of the year. The crisp, cool air, leaves crunching underfoot. Time to dig out the denim jacket.

Thanks X, I love the fall also but not looking forward to winter. Hopefully will be able to escape for a Florida vacation around February !!
