Question about shave oils
« on: October 11, 2008, 09:50:33 AM »
I am sure that there has been a post along these lines but how many of you use shave oil without other products such as creams, gels, etc. I have been using Secret Shave sometimes with Barbasol shave cream and sometimes without. What, if any benefit is there to using something else on top of shave oil?

I use Shave Secret everyday. I have also used it without any gel or cream and it still does a good job as far as the shave goes. I have found if I put the oil on the noggin and massage it in and then apply the Headslick I get a more close and smoother shave and the noggin is also softer. When I don't use the 2 in combo I get the velcro effect a lot sooner in the day than I do when I use the 2 together.   O0

Good idea. Can I buy HeadSlick in a local store or is it internet order only?

You can get it both ways.....some of the stores that carry it are Rite-Aid, CVS, Eckerd Drugs, Walgreens, and Wally World but I have found that some stores that are suppose to be distributors don't carry it. I get mine at the local Rite-Aid drug store.     O0

I use Kinexium Advanced Shaving Oil By King of Shaves

http://www.americarx.com/Products/19761.html

This is the best oil I've ever used.  I apply the oil, then the BaldGuyz Shave Gel.  I'm rather obsessive about getting the oil off my scalp.  I follow up my shave with a head wash using a good facial quality soap (I use Anthony Logistics Citrus), then do a cold water rinse.

To answer your question about why use oil and gel:   smoothness and no irritation.  PM me and I'll send my complete shave routine.
