So my dad took the plunge...
« on: October 06, 2008, 01:29:57 PM »
He said that I inspired him, and he shaved it clean. O0  He was pretty much there, as he's been shaving with no guard for awhile, so it really wasn't much of a difference.  And I personally think he looks great either way.
It's cool, because now I have been passing on the knowledge about shaving methods and all the good stuff I've learned from you guys.
On the negative side, I asked my mom if she liked it.  She looked at my dad, then just shook her head.
I'd heard stories about some of you dudes getting bad reactions from your wives, but I had nothing but encouragement from my wife-to-be.  Is this just a generational thing??

WAIT...I'M NOT THAT OLD!  :Xo!

Yeah, the Lovely Mrs. Schro hates it, but she's the only one in my family that doesn't like it. I think it looks good, my dome has a good shape, and I love it.

I have no idea if it's a generational thing.

I'll be back in a minute....I just crapped in my Depends.

Years ago my dad said he wants his hair to fall out so he wouldn't have to fool with it anymore.  He's real conservative and would never shave it, though.  As of now he's 61 years old and has hardly lost a hair.

He mentioned recently that he noticed my hair starting to thin... says it's the genes from his mom's side.

My Dad had always wanted to buzz his head and my Mother would never let him. I had buzzed mine quite awhile before he had passed away. Anyway, my Dad eventually had to go into a nursing home and my Mother finally gave in and let my wife buzz his head . It was probably 2 months later that he passed away, but he had the pleasure of finally enjoying that buzzed head he had always desired even if it was only for a couple months....RIP Dad.

That's a great story T2S! I've tried to get my Dad to "Shave the Shoe" but he thinks I'm crazy.

Post up a photo of you and Dad together.

Hey "Shave the Shoe" is kind of catchy.... maybe we should have bumper stickers made............... Slap that slogan on there with the SBG logo....

Good for him T2S!  My dad, once I went sly, told my mom that he was gonna do the same thing, but he hasn't yet, but man he needs to!

That's awesome TS2!
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

That's great t2s.

I don't think it's generational, just things are a lot more accepted now than they used to be.

My dad likes the sly look, but he has a full head of hair.  My MPB comes from my mom's side.  She's cool with my slyness too and so are my friends.  It's just my wife and daughter who don't care for it.  I'm not digging in my heels and refusing to let the hair grow back because I'm out to prove a point or be a jerk, I just hate the hair.  Being sly feels great and its unique to me.  What can I say?
