Apparently, you're not alone. I thought he was from California and thus not well liked by the Nascar fans in the south. Then again, I don't follow auto racing.

The May races are the best! I live near Charlotte Motor Speedway. (grew up 5 miles from there).
That would rock! The Sly crew all shining the domes, eating fried chicken, drinking beer, and yelling "EARNHARDT!!!!!!"...ha ha

Yeah, it's in my family. My uncle raced the local Winston Cup series here in CA. Has raced several times at Infinion Raceway (Ol' Sears Point). Heck, I even took a few dates to his races, and yes, this was in Cali.
If my family isn't racing cars, then they are racing dirt bikes. Of course, that's when we're not shooting guns.

My dad and his buddies used to race dirt track a lot. I love that stuff....I grew up with the saying "Speed costs money.....how fast ya wanna go?"
