I have to agree and say exfoliating is a VERY good thing to do when your a headshaver. Obviously it helps to remove the dead skin, which helps increase a more natural shine, instead of the lubes, and also it helps to decrease the look of the shadow on your head, from my experience atleast. Also as some of the other headshavers say, that it helps to get a closer shave too and keeps the gunk from building up in your razor. You just want to use a firm but gentle touch while doing it, and not go totally overboard, that can leave your skin feeling raw and appear red afterwards, nothing like having your head look like you have sunburn in the middle of winter.  :o

I personally haven't used any of the exfoliaters you guys have mentioned although I'm quite tempted, and am considering trying it sometime. I normally just use a good fortifying shampoo and let it sit for a few minutes, but I definetely give the noggin a good scrubbin  O0
Its good to be bald my friends :)

It all depends on the type of sandpaper you use Ironhorse....

I use a silicon carbide 30 grit attached to a vulcanized fiber backing, best used at high speeds.  now that emory cloth stuff you are using on that belt sander...all that is going to do is put a nice shine on your noggin.

Since there has been a couple comments on price, I will say this, All of my HB products have lasted incredibly long. I've been using HeadShed, HeadWash, HeadSlick, and Headlube for almost 3 months on my head, face, and tattoos and I'm half way through the HeadWash and about the same on the HeadSlick, the rest are about 3/4 of the way full. My point is, the price is more than reasonable when you realize a little goes a long way.

I'm fairly new to the HB products (only a couple of shaves under my belt with  Head Slick) But find that a quarter sized dollop is enough for both face and noggin (I use it combined with Shave Secret). With the Head Lube, it's somewhere between a dime and nickel sized dollop, so I expect they'll be lasting me quite awhile O0

I've been using a pre-shave exfoliant on my head from the start.
I hate to admit it, but I take better care of my head then my face.

Don't think I'd exfoliate my face. With a mug like mine TimmJ's orbital belt sander would be more apropo. There are kinder-gentler machines on the market.

My wife recently bought this dermabrasion kit.
http://www.youthfulessence.com/system

For $29 bucks it includes  a machine with all the works.
I'd seriously like to try it on my head, but my wife said no.
One day when she's out of the house, I'm giving it a try.
If I like, I'll buy my own.

I started exfoliating with a pumus stone about a week ago.  I can't believe how smooth my shaves are.  Before every now and then I would shave and it would be like I shaved with a cheese grater.  Exfoliation is amazing!

Um, a pumas stone? Thats how I clean the hard water buildup in my toilet. Not sure I want to put it on my dome  :o

I just bought a 10 oz tub of St Ives Apricot scrub for $5.79. Smells a little girly, but it was a great deal. And after exfoliating the head for the 1st time this morning, I don't care how girly it smells. It felt great!

I just bought a generic of St. Ives from Wally World and it works just as good and cost's less. I think it was the Equate brand. This stuff definately doesn't have a girly smell....lol....so if your looking for something that doesn't smell girly.....try it..... O0
