Mole or bump removal (experienced help wanted)
« on: October 02, 2008, 05:14:34 AM »
I have a bump,, not really a mole,, on the back of my head I nick almost every shave, also a smaller bump up top I get sometimes. Both have been looked at by doc,, (before slyness) and thought to be no problem. If I get them removed, for convenience, how long would that keep me from shaving??

Thanks,
Tom

Tom, I would think that would depend on how big the bump is and how deep they would have to go.  I'm not a Dr so that's about all I can say, but I think it would be a couple weeks anyway. Maybe Warhawk would know more about something like that

Depends on the size and deepness. Probably a few weeks. But if you dont like it; get it removed.,

I recently had a bump removed and had five stitches.  I just shaved around it.  It wasn't a big deal.  The doctor removed the stitches in about a week and you can't even tell where the bump was.  He did a good job.  Before I went sly, I had two other bumps removed, so I guess I'm a veteran.  The most recent bump appeared a few years ago, before I started shaving.  I didn't mess with it then, but it bothered me once I was bald.  The doctor told me I may have less of a tendency to get these bumps now that I'm sly.  It's a common thing in a lot of guys.

Tom, I've had several.  It depends on the type and size.  Some can be frozen or burned off - that may take about 2 weeks to really heal.  It may take a bit long if it needs to be cut out.    The good thing is that you've had them looked over.

Thanks everyone, they don't bother me,, the one on the back is a pain because I usually nick it to one extent or another, last time I got it real good,, so recently I have been putting my finger on it and shaving to it. The one on top is no biggie.

I recently had a bump removed. I also used to put my finger on it when shaving. My dermatologist removed it by Laser and two days later I could shave my head- a little cautious - as before resp. much better without fears of nicking and cutting the bump.  O0
