Shaving woes

Hello to everyone!
This is my first post and of course I am new here. I've looked at this site for a few minutes and I think I am going to like it! I do have a few questions for you guys. Hopefully you can help me with them.
I shave every three days and I shave in the shower. I only put soap on my head and stick my head under the shower head, then shave. I get a smooth shave and I put lotion on my head afterwards, but I get bumps almost everytime. Nothing bad, but still, they are there. What am I doing wrong?
I also looked for a topic on other methods of shaving, such as waxing or lazer hair removal. I actually went into a place today to do lazer hair removal, but it costs a bit much plus it takes a long time. What do you guys think of the lazer treatment?
Last question. I have the male pattern baldness and I hate the "no hair on top look" compared to the darker areas where my hair still grows. How can I have just one, tan color all around?
Thanks guys for your help!

To stop the bumps use shaving cream or shave oil.

Welcome coyoteguy!!!
Make sure you aren't using too much pressure on your razor. Light strokes.
Exfoliate your head first.
Try cold water rense after shaving. Some use ice or witch hazle.
Keep trying. It will get better and remember, everyone is different.

Welcome coyoteguy.
First, go by cvs/walgreens and get headslick to shave with and get away from soap. The soap will dry your skin like crazy in a shave, even moisurizing soap.
Check out the shaving techniqes forum to get some ideas and different products tested and used.
Move your routine up to every 2 days at least, or even everyday.
I would suggest the hot water shave/cold water rinse to seal the pores and then use some aloe or moisture gel.
This will help greatly to eliminate the irritation that is most likely causing the bumps.
Keep it smooth

I would switch from using to soap to using something made for shaving. I understand in todays economy everyone is trying to do what ever they can to save money. Its your noggin bro and you want it to look its best. So go out and spend that extra 3 or 4 bucks and get a good shaving gel. You will be surprised how long it last you because you only need to use a little bit. Make sure you do a good rinse, such as the cold water or icecube. Use a good after shave lotion also. Alot of the guys and myself prefer just clear aloe vera gel. Good luck and post up often.

Well, I've been shaving my head for about 4 years now. I have put up with the bumps/irritation ever since. I figured my routine was bad.
I shave while showering. I do put on lotion though. I will def. check out some shaving cream.
Do you guys suggest wetting my head, putting on some good shaving cream, and then shave?
Thanks for all of your adivce!
By the way, I just had an appointment with a laser hair removal place. I will post the details for you guys.
