Jeep Lift Kit Installation?
« on: September 28, 2008, 07:22:09 AM »
Hey Gang!

I'm all thumbs when it comes to working on automobiles, man....so I'm wondering how / where to go about having a lift kit installed in a new Jeep.

Now I don't want to make a monster truck outa the damn thing.  I just wanna immediately ditch the stock wheels/tires, lift it a bit and dial in the appropriate larger/wider tires.

Seems to me the tire/wheel/lift should be "designed" in concert, huh?

This is an example of what I'm talking about:

Rob, To start:

Ask your Jeep dealer if they know of anyone who installs lift kits, will be a lot cheaper than having the dealer do it. ( some dealers don't do it anyway) .

Is there a local Jeep club in your area? Here where I live we have a Jeep club and the guys in the club are always willing to give you a hand or help out or answer any questions you may have.

I never put a kit on my Wrangler so other than the info I just gave that's about as much advice
as I can offer.....sorry

If you know a reputable Gearhead, that's a good starting point. O0

I looked into having somebody install a lift kit on my jeep because i didn't really have the time to do it, but they wanted an arm and a leg to do it.  In the long run, I am still waiting to get some time to do it, or save some money to let them do it.
