Bald and the law
« on: September 17, 2008, 11:30:32 AM »
I was driving with my g/f, and I noticed a cop behind me.  I wasn't speeding, or wasn't aware of any violation that I may have done, but unexpectedly, the cop turned on his spot light towards my car.  I quickly started to trace back my last few minutes of driving, and knew for sure that I had done nothing.  After about 20 seconds, the cop turned off his spotlight and began to pass me.  As a joke, I told my g/f - "He's probably sly, and couldn't bring himself to pull me over".  Sure enough, as he drove by, I saw the street light gleaming off his dome.

Whatever the reason for what he did, I had a good laugh, and it got me thinking..  Negative or positive, has the fact that you have a sly dome ever affected you with the law?

I've only been sly since August but so far I've been able to drive to work at close to 20-25mph over the speed limit. Haven't been stopped yet so it must be working. So far so good!

Seriously though... I haven't had any run-ins with the law in a long time. If/when I do, I'll be sure to post the story.

Every time I get pulled over, they don't even come up to the car, they always call for back-up first.  Then I have 3 cop cars around me........... :popo :popo :popo
I was told to think outside the box, how did I get in the box in the first place?

that cop must have seen your dome and said "yea, he's one of us" and let you go.  Thx for sharing your story

Here in the Uk the Goverment and local councils are always coming up with stupid laws (like getting fined cos your trash bin lid was'nt tight shut) so making it law to matt down a shiny dome so other drivers dont get dazzled, would not susprise me lol

Oh No! That would never go over here in California. Geez, we spend several hours stationary in traffic nearly everyday.

I was leaving a grocery store in the middle of a seedy part of town and I put my aviators on.
Some guy walking by me said, "have a good day officer!" in a real sarcastic voice.  I guess he thought I was a cop with the shiny dome and aviators.

I told him "Do you always judge a book by it's cover?  I just got off working at the Public Defender's office all day, I'll see you soon, in jail."

Not different here in the states. Our fall Myrtle Beach Harley Rally has been ruined by our city councils desicion that they no longer want bikers here. As far as the law I have not had any negative reactions personally from local cops but then again alot of them are SLY as well.
Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.
