I would recommend the headblade as long as you use sensor 3 blades.  I get a much better shave with the headblade and the sensor 3 blades don't gunk up much.

I gotta say fellas That after using the Mach3 for a few days now, I really like it! I was starting with my HB, then cleaning it all up with the Mach3, but the last few times just used the Mach3 by itself. (first shave ever was the HB) The only reason I even have Mach3 razors is because my Mom bought them for my Dad, and he hated them. I have always shaved my face with Gillette Sensors, and still hit around my ears with them.

I like to draw, and paint and feel like I have more control with the long handle rather than the HB's placement in my hand. I will keep using both till my blades run out and then will decide what to stock up on.

Alright guys,  I bought a Headblade at Walgreens (it was $11 I think, and I couldn't find it at my WalM).

My first impression was good, I'll give awhile before I give a complete analysis as well.
The HB seems to be good for the top and front of the head; after making those sweeps it is still necessary to go against the grain on the sides to really get close.  (I like that shiny smooth look and feel; and so do the ladies)

I could see how many guys wouldn't like the HB at first bc the mechanics of using it are so different from a conventional razor.  But I like the feel of it, it makes the razor an extension of my hand.
I will still keep my Mach 3 too though.

My 2 cents worth:

I, personally, had only bad experiences with the HB and used it only a  handful of times before relegating it to the back of the drawer. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't avoid nicking my dome. And the time I was in a hurry?

I used a mach 3 for years, before switching to a 4 blade razor, and have been very happy with both - But in the end, it's all about what works best for you. I guess I'm just too "ham handed" for a HB.

I am by no means an expert,,, the TWO times I have used my Head Blade have been good experiences. It works great when using Head Slick,, but that may have been because the FIRST time I used regular shaving cream,, and I was slightly more comfortable when I shaved the second time. I have never tried anything else.

Hello D.O.S. Im Gabe Ive had my head shaved for about I'll say month and a half. And now I really am inspired about HB! however, there is a few spots on my dome that require special attention i.e. if you were to talk to me directly you would see a point at the very back on top of it and on the sides of that point I always have to use special attention, but yesterday I was at Wal-Mart looking at some DVD's and I saw "HITMAN" the movie, so i looke at it and a older women (not a "cougar") got right up on my shoulder, practically behind right behind me on my left side and as she passed left me, I said to her "I was told that I looked like this guy and she said you do alot" and later I asked her "how"? and she told me the face a good bit and the way my scalp is shaped and my forehead. I thought it was only a game to. But it was nice I realy enjoy it, and not only that but, it gets annoying sometimes to do it every night. But I learned my lesson on waiting to shave it every 2 days, not good. How ever I havent been on in a while, and Im from Georgia. I use the Schick comfort shave theyre the greenish blue ones with 3 blades on them they are in a pack of 8 I believe.

Personally, I love the Headblade combined w/ the power of Fusion.   :@`

Had the same pain and misfortune with the headblade as Ironhorse.
I suggest you shave your noggin' with what you're already familiar with.

Well I use the HB for the noggin and recently changed to Mach3 for my face. Tried it a couple of times for my head as well. I like both but practical guy that I am I am wondering about the sense of using two different blades due to economical reasoning.

I use both the HB and a Sensor. I use the HB to do the bulk of the job and the neaten up the odd spots I've missed or round my ears (which I find a bit tricky with the HB).  I personally find that the HB is great and gives me a wonderful smooth even result and was converted to the headblade after just a couple of uses.

You can alwasy flip the blade on your headblade and use it on your face, as well!

Headblade for the main shave... and whatever you love for the follow-up detailing (ears, etc.)  I prefer the atra blades ( 2 blades tend to not gunk up as quick as the triple blades).  Go for it... but go slow and easy on the pressure!

I use the headblade too. Takes a little getting use to though. Using Atra blades on it. Be vary careful when you first start out, and don't put any downward pressure on it. Just kind of let it do its own thing...
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

I vote for the M3. I've had MUCH more consistent results with it. The Headblade it way too hit or miss IMO.
