I always start with the back of the dome.......thats were the most of my hair remains....starting with the top would be like mowing a parking lot that was just paved.....

I go straight down the runway, front to back--the hair is soft and sparse and it's a clean up job and gives a few more seconds for the gel etc. to soften the rest. Then against the grain on the back where although the hair is the thickest and coarsest, it isn't very prone to any nicks or irritation (at least for me), then around the ears, right and left, then right side, left side.

I start right in the middle of the top and go all the way to the bottom of the back and keep going like that all the way to the right ear. Then i start back on top and do the left ear. Then i start on my right side and go against the grain all around until i end up on the left side. Then touch up where i missed and special attention to around the ears. Exfoliate, rinse and admire the shiny dome. It used to take me a good 15 minutes, but today I did it in less than 5 minutes and didn't have to use nearly as many strokes as when i started 2 months ago.

Right side to top (front to back), left side to top (front to back), then same routine, back to front (against the grain).
