bootedbear....your killing me LMAO

Just got back from the store, and while I was at the local grocery store, after check out on the way out I stopped at the Ice Cream counter to get me some.  After the girl scooped me a bowl of my favorite "Cookie and Cream" ice cream, she leaned over and whispered, "I love your shaved head", I leaned over and said thanks.  She said that she wished I would talk to her husband about it because he has the dreaded HORSESHOE on his head, and is even  talking about getting hair transplant surgery.  I asked her if she had internet access, she said yes and I gave her the url to SBG forum.  She gave me her phone number and asked for me to call her on Friday to set up a meeting with her husband.  This was all done in a whisper, when I was about to leave I leaned in and asked her why we were whispering. She said it felt like she was cheating on her husband asking me about my head.

I laughed all the way to the truck

That's awesome!

I think we've all been called a cancer patient at some point!   ::)

The last time someone called ME cancer patient, I really cut loose on them.  In a firm, but not nasty voice, I explained to them that all they have to do is look at my face, and notice that I have eyebrows.  Another clue is that I am not carrying a kleenex because my nose is not running, and a cancer patient looses their nose hair also.  I told them that I had a close friend who recently died of cancer, so I know what I am talking about.  I learned a lot from her three year struggle...  ...a lot about courage, faith, and character.

Their snickering smile faded immediately, they said, "Sorry about your friend." and kinda slithered away.

I bet they don't make THAT mistake again.

That's rubbish.  Shave your head because you want to, and feel secure in your own skin.

Well said!  This is the bottom line.      O0

People are cruel!  I too have had the cancer patient remark.  Ignore their ignorance and do what you want.  After all, do they pay your bills, feed you.  Bet not, as they have no compassion for your feelings.  Hang in there and hold that shining bald head high!!

Keep strong m8. Kinda hard to beleive that FAMILY could be so insensitive. Possibly expect that from strangers. You are still the same person inside as you were before you shaved your bonce.

Nobody used any of those derogatory terms on me, but I was Voldamort for Halloween.

Walked around in a black cloak pointing a twisted wand and shouting "AVACADAVRA" and "KILL THE SPAZZ"

Great for scaring children....
