Phil Man:
Anyone ever run here? I always hated doing this in highschool but now that its getting harder and harder to stay in shape by living the life of a couch potato I've started to have an appreciation for this once maligned activity.

I started of pathetically of course being inactive for a good year and a half but I've seen my distance and times improve and this only serves to encourage me more (Its a great addiction to have instead of smoking or eating lots too). I'm now regularly running 5k (roughly around 3 miles) and even considering running a half marathon by next spring  :)

I think that those who want to get back in shape should seriously consider this even if they only start by walking and then progressing to jogging. The important part is not to be self conscious when you do it and imagine that everyone is laughing about how slow or how weird you look in your exercise gear. having music and regular feedback about the distance you're running are often great solutions.

So, what are you waiting for fellas? Just pick up a nice pair of shoes and start putting one foot in front of the other!  O0

I do HIIT (run for 1 minute, then walk for 1 minute, and repeat), it allows me to rest and keep my heart rate up.  So far I've been losing weight too, but I also lift weights and watch what I eat.

I've been starting HIIT also.  Though, I'm hoping to get my stamina up so that I can start running longer distances.

I haven't been able to run for about 9 months, I used to do a lot of trail running, but a knee injury has kept me to my bicycle

I walk quite a bit.  Running has never been appealing to me.  If i had a chance to do the running of the bulls, i'd do it.  I'd have to.
