That was my first thought this past week when I got a personalized invitation to join AARP. And here I thought 40's were the new 30's (or something like that). I cannot figure out how they got my name or why they would solicit me. Anyone else had a similar expericence?.......If I didn't feel old before, I sure do now.

Your birthdate must be recorded incorrectly somewhere. I think you can join AARP at 55, so they probably think you're ten years older than you are.

I thought you had to be around 53 to join - my cousin jumped in at the first possible moment to take advantage of their insurance. Your still too young ... but hey - you get all the good discounts with the AARP card. Take advantage of it!

It must be, or they are just doing a little early recruiting. It is kind of a blow to your ego just when you get used to looking younger without the grey hair.

You're eligible to join at 50, according to their website. So maybe it is a little early recruiting.

Now that I think about it, maybe I should join just to get those "senior discounts". I'll be the first to admit that I'm cheap.....(or should I say frugal).

Start telling people that you're 50; everyone will think you look great for your age.

Yeah, I tell everybody that I'm 40 but I'm really only 30.
