What's on the menu for Sunday dinner?
« on: August 17, 2008, 11:35:53 AM »
What is your favorite meal on Sunday?

I do the cooking on Sundays, so around 7am I put a boneless round roast in the slow cooker with some potatoes and carrots.  I then let that sucker sit all day, and by 5:30.........oh crap!  Now I'm hungry!

Anyway, what's on the Sly Sunday menu?

Well, we cheated and stopped at a local Chinese Buffet/Mongolian BBQ.  This place is really good, has a lot of variety, and is fairly inexpensive.  Only problem is now, I need a serious Sunday afternoon nap.

No home-cooked meal in my house today.  We're moving on Tuesday, so we'll be lucky to eat anything, with all the packing going on.

Normally, my wife cooks a nice Sunday dinner ...

The other guys on the team and I--we're a disaster recovery company--bought NY strips, corn, gorgonzola cheese, guacamole and chips and some Penfolds Koonunga Hill last night and grilled them by pool at our hotel today just after noon.  We forgot the butter but the front desk delivered some from the breakfast buffet as we cooked, watermelon for dessert.  Away from home, but not away from good company and  conversation.  We also have an ear on the progress of Fay, it could affect our lives and work in an immediate way.

I hickory smoked two beer can chickens, fresh corn on the cab, fresh tomatoes, grill roasted sweet potatoes, and curried deviled eggs.

Followed by Mom's homemade peach pie...........
