I would never live in a major metro area again..... I grew up in the SF Bay Area, but since 1990 have lived up here in NW Montana. But our area is getting worse on the traffic end as the influx of people move in from.... and yes So Cal, SFBA, Atlanta Ga etc etc etc.
While I am not blaming those poeple, but am blaming that they have not left their bad habits behind from where they came from. And yes, when you make them aware of their driving habits they hang F bombs at you etc as they think they only exist in their little world.
I grew up in Baltimore City in Maryland but 6 years ago I moved to a very small town in Pennsylvania. No traffic lights, no fast food, not even a big grocery store. The old timers in town told me very clearly... "We don't mind you moving here but leave your city ways back in the city". I took that to heart and i am now one of those "old timers" that says that to those moving in.
Of course that never happens in Northern California....LOL
As I wrote in my opening Tom, "I know this happens in other parts of the world". Heck, it happened to me last year in my home town....but 6 instances in 30 minutes?
One thing I noticed in connection to our road trip to So. Calif. is that L.A. drivers are able to get away with WAY MORE than we do here in Denver / Littleton.
Traffic cops are EVERYWHERE here and it makes for a more law-abiding experience.
If ya let yer speed start creepin up beyond 5 mph above the speed limit, chances go up that yer gonna git pulled over.
I ALWAYS set my cruise control to about 2 - 3 mph above the limit.
The same goes for illegal lane changes, illegal turns, cuttin' off pedestrians...etc...

I know this happens in other parts of the world, but to see six instances in 30 minutes was absolutely insane. Was I on camera?
Avoid walking in SoCal whenever possible. You have been warned.
That's why I try to stay north of Grapevine Hill, Schro. When in SoCal Brother, stick to the treadmill or the beach.
I understand completely Schro. I worked in Atlanta for 6 years. I worked on 2nd shift on purpose just to avoid as much of that crap as possible. Then it got to where Atlanta has ONE rush hour. It lasts from 5 am to midnight!
Be safe! I'm glad you survived to tell the story.
