NFL 2008/2009
« on: August 12, 2008, 05:08:41 PM »
Thought I'd start a thread for any pre and post-game thoughts of your favorite teams for the 08/09 season.

Being a Seattle native, I have always been a Seahawks fan, and we're taking on Da Bears (quite a few Bears fans in here, I'm sure) on Saturday in Seattle.  The Hawks are coming off of a 34-17 victory in Minnesota while Chicago is recovering from a close 24-20 loss from Kansas City.  With the exception of passing yards, the stats looked like the Bears outplayed the Chiefs.
Anyway, looking forward to Saturday.  I might even try to pick up tickets since pre-season is my only hope of getting into a game this year.

Any thoughts on upcoming games, me fellow sly fans!?

Eagles fan here. I am looking for a big year out of the birds...If mcnabb and westbrook can stay healthy I like their chances against anyone.   Healthy Eagles should be 11-5 or better...
Odds are against them being healthy based upon the last 4 years :/  ...Im hoping though !

Being I am from NY will have to go for the Giants again, although I doubt if they can win it all again this year......actually, as long as the Cowboys don't win I will be happy..... ;D

The Hawks will be a good bet. With Favre now in the NFC, that's one less competitor. Plus, they could go 6-0 in the NFC West. The Hawks are my #2 team behind..............you know who.

My boys are still a work in process. I'll tell you one thing, they will be a lot of fun to watch...and not for the wrong reasons. Their offense could be explosive, and their passing defense is going to be awesome! Now, if we can only stop the run. Prediction...7-9 (9-7 if all goes right).

Big Ravens fan here....... It could be a tough year because of the QB situation. I think Flacco is going to be a goood one though in the future.

Prediction.......9-7..........

People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Not sure who caught the Hawks - Bears game, but it was a preseason nail biter.  Robbie Gould of the Bears had a chance to kick a winning field goal in the last seconds of the game - but it went wide left (barely).  Hawks won the overtime coin toss, and eventually Coutu of the Seahawks kicked a field goal for the win.
Preseason doesn't mean much, but it was entertaining one.  Seattle fans, how about Justin Forsett?  We'll see how he plays against first-string guys, but after his performance on Saturday, I think he deserves a chance to be a starter.
