Bald R Us
« on: August 10, 2008, 02:41:00 PM »
Before I found this site there was a site I would frequently visit called "Bald R Us". The site was very good and had much useful information for all us bald guys. I have noticed in the last month that the site is no longer there and was wondering if any of the bald brothers or sisters here have ever heard of the site or possibly knows what happened to it?

I had no idea it was gone.  I used to visit it pretty often, but I lost interest when they stopped updating it frequently and when I discovered this site. I'm sorry to hear that it's gone.  It was the best pro-bald site on the web until SBG came along.

The owner didn't seem to have time to keep the site updated on a regular basis.  Maybe he just decided not to renew registration of the domain name.

That's very possible, I know Tony and his son had started a new business venture and was having a hard time finding time for the site. He seemed to be so dedicated to it that I never thought he would let it go....but I guess putting the bread and butter on the table takes priority.........

Yeah, I used to visit that site quite a lot before I got hooked on SBG's.  It was one of the best sites B.S.B.G (Before Sly Bald Guys).  Sorry to hear its gone. :'(

That's a real bummer that they are gone!  They used to send a lot of traffic here and provided a great service to the bald community.

I didn't think it had been that long since I had been there.  I agree it was one of the better sites.  There was even a link for quite awhile to my Christian Chromedomes site on Yahoo.  Tony IS a very nice guy.  I even talked to him on the phone a few years ago.

There was also another site that was instrumental in my going to the Sly side.  That was a page called, "The Hairfree Homepage".  Jason K. Waltz (I think I got his name right) had started it.  There was a sense of community there back in 1998.  If I remeber there was even a IRC chatroom.  It has been so long since I had done IRC...is it still around?  But eventually Jason let the page go dormant for several years because of the business he was in.  He did start up that page again about 2 or 3 years ago.  But by that time, he was passed by.  So it is dark the last time I looked.

But the Hairfree Homepage did give rise to Francesco and Bald By Choice Men on Yahoo.  So it seems that a lot of things are connected together!

Just so you all know, Bald R Us is alive and well!  So maybe there were just some glitches.  Or maybe Tony got a little bit of time to devote to the site!  For those who don't know what I am talking about, go to: www.baldrus.com .

Yes Marsh, I noticed a few days ago it was up and running again although the site still does not appear that it's been updated in a couple months...
