Going Cold Turkey......
FR8TRAIN:
Hey slyinglide. First off congrats on deciding to become smoke free. O0 Notice I didn't say "giving up" or "quitting". That's because you are not giving up or are you quitting anything you are simply becoming a non-smoker. Nicotine is the most addictive drug known to man and due to the chemical influence it has on the brain, one of the most difficult to kick.
As you can see from my ticker, I have only been smoke free for 20 days. I went Cold Turkey as well. I will tell you that the cravings are the worst the first week. A lot less the second week and dramatically drop there after. One of the things that I did during the first week was to frequent places where I had never smoked. For me that was the local library. Since I had never smoke in that location, it was easier to combat any craving I might experience while I was there. I also chewed up several packets of sugar-free mint gum during the first 2 weeks. When a craving hits you, take a couple of very deep breaths, pop a stick of chewing gum in your mouth and wait 10 minutes before acting on that craving. Chances are the craving will have dissipated by the end of the 10 minutes and you will continue to be smoke free.
Again I congratulate you on your decision. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or just want to chat. If you’re thinking about lighting up, PM me first. My best to you in this endeavor. O0

My dad sucked on peppermints and atomic fireballs when he had cravings. He's been smoke free for a few years now.

It will get better Bro! I know how you feel! I wished I never started smoking as well. Just remember that once you get throught the first couple of weeks it will be a lot easier! I will warn you of the smoking dreams though. Believe me you will have them and they will seem so real!
Keep up the good work. You will sleep better soon. PM me if you need any encouragement. O0
