Sly Kid Stories
« on: August 05, 2008, 12:18:46 AM »
Today, I went swimming at the nearby outdoor pool to cool off.  Shortly after I got in the pool, I felt some arms grabbing a hold of my shoulder.  It was the arms of a little girl.  Initially I had wondered if one of my friends were there with his daughters.  I later found that it was a little girl that I didn't know.  A couple of minutes later I saw the same little girl with her arms around a sly fellow with a similar build.  So the grabbing was a case of mistaken identity.  I then came up to the man and told him about his daughter thinking I was him.  For a couple of minutes we had a nice conversation and he said that it would have been easy to mix us up since we both were "very handsome" men.  I told him that I couldn't argue with him!  His little daughter said that we both looked alike.  In the eyes of a young child that is probably true.  But this fellow sported a trimmed goatee and moustache and I have a full beard.  But the mixup put a smile of my face and the sly father of the little girl.

So let's hear your Sly Kid Stories!

I have had similar experiences, we were at a theme park and it seemed that right after I saw a guy that looked similar to me that there was a set of twins that came up to me saying 'daddy can you give us some money so we can get food' and when I turned around they gave me an odd look and went running to their real father. Then there is the classic store experience that has happened several times where I am in the store and little kids come up to me or drop stuff in my cart thinking I am their dad then they see my face they realize I am not their dad and they go away.

My daughter told me the other day that when she is in the stores with my 3 year old grandson, if he sees a bald guy at the other end of the isle or at a distance he will start hollering Boppa.....thinking it is me.....she has to tell him it's not me to get him to stop hollering...    Last summer my wife and I were sitting at an intersection waiting for a red light when a car pulls up to the side of us. I noticed a small boy staring at me as he rolled his window down to get a better look ....all of a sudden he started hollering to his father.....Daddy, Daddy look....a Bald Man!!!    My wife about died of laughter...... :*))

I have two stories.  One my youngest daughter Annie was standing in the foyer at church and I looked over and she had another guy hugging him around his leg.  Fortunately we knew the guy and Kris looks at me and said look at your daughter.  I turn to look at annie...and I said "Annie are you having fun there?"  She just sorta looked at me and then her eyes turned to the guy and she was like OH CRAP you arent my daddy.  LOL...thing is he wasnt shaved...just buzzed down.

The other story was when I was at the grocery store and I over heard a lady say "Yes I went to school with him, he is nice"  I turned to see who it was and it was a high school friend of mine.  I guess that her son who was probably about 6 or 7 wanted to talk to me but he was afraid.  She told me that he is always afraid of guys who have bald heads because he thinks they big tough and mean.  I said Ahhh shucks...I aint mean or tough...just a lil ol whimp....He just smiled and finally said Hello Sir!  LOL

I was correcting some spelling errors on my original post.  I guess the computer had a hiccup and submitted a blank reply.  I have now deleted that message!   O0

I think alot of people think that men that are bald are mean....I have a tendency to scare alot of people, and I don't know why...I am one big TEDDY BEAR....would not hurt a fly unless they tried to hurt someone I cared about first.. I am a big man, but an even bigger heart........
I was told to think outside the box, how did I get in the box in the first place?

Well, I have found that no matter what hairstyle I sport people don't seem to mistake me as mean. A little girl today spun me out at the go-cart place. So I decided to get her back. lol She gave me a mean ol' look that made ME afraid! If I was scary, I doubt she would have messed around and tried so hard to spin me out.
