To keep it bald?
« on: August 03, 2008, 05:22:57 PM »
Hi I have shaved my head a few times and never keep it.  I shaved it for the first time in 2 yrs over a week ago at the barbers.  Went back again for another shave.  Its got almost two days growth now.  Thinking of reshaving but I am starting to miss hair.  Here are my before and afters and one with a #1 buzz.  Tell me if I should keep it.  I am pale and slightly thin too.

Hey man...Just my personal opinion but the SLY look is far better for you. I know it takes a little adjusting but give it a month and I think you will reconsider ever going back.

OK, I was in exactly the same position you were a few years ago.  Your first pic doesn't look bad.  The second photo is what you're going to look like in another 6 months to a year, no matter what you do with your hair.  You look great in the third picture.  On a long-term basis, totally shaved is your best option.  I can understand the mixed emotions about going that route right now while you still have some hair, but if you're interested in the advice of someone who's been there -- start shaving now and get used to it.  Otherwise you'll just become obsessed with monitoring the further thinning and recession of your hair.

I went back and forth like you did a number of times.  I felt a bit self conscious with a shaved head and always ended up growing it back.  And once it was grown in again, I always regretted not sticking with it.  The best thing you can do is shave and commit to shaving daily for the next 30 days no matter what.  If you can make it through those 30 days, you'll be home free.

The one comment made by virtually everyone who shaves is head is, "I wish I had done it sooner."  Do yourself a favor and start your 30 day trial now.  You'll thank us afterwards.

Welcome!  It's my opinion that you look better with the shaved head than the other two pics.  Give shaving a shot for 30 days straight, then decide.

Welcome to SBG Parchessy.  I have to agree with the other guys ...  In my opinion, you look best shaved completely clean.

Bald is a keeper.  Looks good that way
