Marmite...
« on: August 01, 2008, 05:56:45 PM »
Sitting here in my little cocoon, I suddenly became peckish.. so like Old Mother Hubbard, I went to the cupboard.. but was hoping to find some marmite so I could spread it on crackers...
alas, no marmite!!  :'(

I really want some!!

for those of you that don't know.. it's a spread made from yeast extract, which, although it does contain a
high amount of salt (least it tastes quite salty)  it also contains vitamin B12 and is abundant in other good stuff!!

you can find out more by checking out www.marmite.com

Is that like Australia's Vegemite?

Yeah, I'll sneak it in to the theater when I go see Mama Mia.
That'll be about the same time Hell freezes over, pigs fly, and I vote democrat!

I've tried it and although it IS salty,  a better word for it, in my opinion, is NASTY . ....

Comes in a cool jar, though.
So, I'm as likely to taste it again as I am to vote Republican !

now, now fellas, this is about marmite, not politics!!

(c'mon the monster raving loony party!  :px)

oh, and I hasten to add.... it's actually a very effective mosquito repellent. Mosquito's can
apparently detect it before even giving you a nip and hate the stuff too!  :px

Why thank you, MBabe!   8)

And I don't think it's turned political. I just mentioned three events that are likely to occur before I try vegemite / marmite / termite / or mightymite. John just decided to copy my incredible satirical wit (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery). No harm, no foul.
