So this morning...

I wake up and go to the bathroom to shave, and before I know it, I'm cutting into my goatee. I couldn't believe it!!! I still don't know what it looks like yet though. See, since I was 15 I can count on both hands the amount of times I've been shaved completely clean, so where the goatee WAS, it's now redder than hell and still looks like I have it.
I don't know how long this will last, but I guess I'll just go with it for the weekend at least and see the reactions I get.

I've done that before.
Cant even remember the last time I did it. Had to have been at least 4 or 5 years ago.
I do remember getting a compliment afterwards from a cutey at work that it made me look younger.
I grew it right back though.
Funny thing is, since I shaved the head I've had the urge to shave off the goatee just to see what it looked like.

I did that with an eyebrow once. Went to use my beard trimmer to trim the brows and didn't realize in time that the guard wasn't on.
Post a pic of your clean-shaven mug so we can see what it looks like.

I'll post a pic in a day or two once the redness subsides... it's just been over 2 years since I was clean-shaven so it's not used to it...
But I'm off to Rib-Fest now, unfortunately not in my truck though... I went to jump in it to head to a friends to change the brakes and well, it started squealing like mad and smoking... The A/C pump seized up and blew the serpentine belt, so I got it half ripped apart cause I never use A/C anyway, but I am without wheels for the start of my long weekend...

Know what you mean. Hurts, doesn't it?

And that hurts even more.

Yeah, all it's costing me is $25 for a new belt and time to disconnect the A/C unit, pull it off and put the new belt on, but it's the last thing I needed. The good thing is that it didn't happen on my way to or from Chicago, cause the spare belt I carried was wor with A/C so it would have been too long. Look on the bright side of things right?

Well, there's still some redness, but last night when my friend picked me up he didn't notice it right away. It wasn't until we were half way to London that he turned to say something then said "Holy Sh!t!!! You shaved your goatee!!! It's so red I still didn't notice it!"
I don't know though, I guess I'll leave it for a few days at least to see what everyone else says. I'm going to swing by work in a few days to see what people say there too.
Rosenbaum eh? Really?

I've had the same thing happen -- a lot of people didn't seem to notice when I shaved mine -- just like a lot of people didn't seem to notice when I shaved my head. People don't pay as much attention to our appearances as we think they do. They may notice something is different, but they can't quite put their finger on what it is.

Yeah, really. I'm neither pro- nor anti- facial hair. Some guys look better with it and some look better without. The Mr. Clean thing works for you.

Jer,
The Mr Clean look does look good on you, though I am partial to facial hair myself. But both work on you. By the way, Happy Simcoe Day!

You look great without the goaty, keep it that way. I think all bald men look better without facial hair. No need to compensate! But please don't complain to me about a truck breaking down. I drive this:

As we all know, U don't know the meaning of "breaking down" until you drive Alfa Romeo, amature

! Yestereday the clutch blew. Every week is a surprise in AR, consider yourself lucky.
Cheers Dave
