Have you seen this new Fusion ad? It looks like Gillette really is laying the ground work for the eventual discontinuation of the Mach III. Interesting how they are dissing one of their products to promote another:

Yes I have seen this and yes I believe they are trying to encourage Mach 3 users to upgrade. Chances are that they will discontinue or limit the Mach 3 before too long.

Seems to me that having 5 blades a "stuffed closer together" would make them clog.

I don't think they got the following they expected and would like nothing more than to stop production of the Mach3.
Me, I'm sticking with the Sensor Excel and HeadBlade with Sensor 3 cartridges. Been stocking up on them in case they cease production

I have a Fusion and a Mach3. I like both about the same actually. The blades for the Mach are slightly less expensive, but other than that I have no preference really.

Believe it or not, it doesn't clog any more or any faster than the others.
I've always used the FUSION since going SLY a year and a half ago.....LOVE IT
