Hey guys and gals. I'm not quite new since I've been a lurker for quite some time, but finally felt it was about time I signed up.
I'm 34 years old, married, have one child, and a proud sly guy from Southern California. I've been a SBG for about 2 years., but my "battle" against baldness started in my mid-twenties. I remember sometime in 1999 or early 2000, my dad (who will turn 60 next year and has a full head of hair!?!) bought me some Rogaine from Costco since my thinning became quite noticeable. The Rogaine was terrible since it caused itching and gave me this rash to my scalp, but for the sake of vanity, I continued with it for a few years. It was fruitless nonetheless, and other treatments were either too costly or too time consuming. So, sometime in '06, I threw away my Rogaine, fired my barber (Hehe, I just stopped going), and buzzed my head with some Walmart Wahl clippers at 0. I immediately started getting compliments about how it looked so much better than the thinning pseudo-Caeser haircut I sported. I didn't start using a razor until about 3-4 months ago, and now I occasionally use an electric Remington Titanium shaver. Wished I didn't wait so long to "BIC" it since it looks good and feels great.
Another great thing I did was lose about 45 lbs. from October of last year to April of this year and keeping it off. It took a doctor's visit (abnormal blood work, fatty liver, pre-diabetes, pre-hypertension, and 195 lbs.) and a tuxedo fitting for my sister's wedding (Egads, I was a 38 waist!) to convince me to lose the weight . I didn't mind being bald but being obese and increasing my risk of disease was a non-negotiable problem I needed to fix. I then joined Weight Watchers and went to meetings until about February of this year, losing about 30+ lbs. I then managed to lose another 10 lbs. or so after reading the Abs Diet by David Zinczenko and Body for Life by Bill Phillips. I've kept the pounds off through a combination of diet and exercise, as well as packing on a couple pounds of muscle. I'm now approx. 145 lbs, 13.5% body fat, and 44% muscle on a 5'4 frame (yeah, I'm short and Asian, forgive me).
Here's a before and after pic:

This was taken sometime in 2007 before starting Weight Watchers in October. I was 190+ lbs.

This was taken on the 4th of July. Anyways, it looks like a great community of people in SBG and glad I'm here.
