Argyle's Fitness Challenge
« on: July 21, 2008, 03:00:15 AM »
Morning Guys,

Right the time has come, Maisie is now 1 so I have to get back on the waggon and work on the old fitness.  I have gone in 3 years from being a competetive rower who trains six days a week, to a resident couch potato, well resident baby sitter anyhow!  I long to get the old levels of fitness back.

Here is my plan:

Swim (64 lengths - 1mile) twice a week
Badminton (1 hour) once a week (very competetive)
Basketball (Full game once a week) winter only

Focused home based resistance:
Focus on Abs, back, biceps and triceps for balance - lower body is pretty good anyway.
5 days out of seven
2 sets of 20 on each with medium heavy weight, no girly sit ups feet tucked right in to make it harder.  Increase reps by 10% each week.

I am recovering from a virus right now so plan to start this weekend with a game of badminton this Sunday!

A SBG's head shines so other SBG's always have the opportunity to see the reflection of how good they look!

Hey Argyle,

I salute you.  A great workout routine is the best way to keep feeling good physically and mentally.

Go for it, Argyle.
I'd dropped my training levels down and decided this weekend to get back into shape.  I've got to shift these love handles.
I'm working to cover 6 days a week:
Run 2 miles every morning
Monday - teach Kung Fu class
Tuesday - Home based resistance training - core and upper body
Wednesday - 2 hour Kung Fu class
Thursday - 1.5 hour Kung Fu class
Friday - Home based resistance training - core and upper body
Saturday - Heavy bag workout
Sunday - rest

I'm cutting down on fat (and general volume of food).
I need to build a diet to reduce carb intake as well.

Keep us posted on progress.
